Eco Boy then embarks on a campaign to raise awareness among children and his neighbors about the importance of the three Rs — Reduce, Reuse and Recycle — and then transforms his town into a green, environment-friendly place, eventually leading him to saving his beloved planet.
Sultan, a young mother, decided to go green a year ago and has since worked tirelessly to guide her family and friends to also going green. She told Arab News that her six-year-old son, Mohammed, was the inspiration behind the book. This book has two main objectives: One is to introduce children to the color green and inculcate in them, from a young age, the need to go green. The second is to encourage our children to read from an early age.
“Children like the concept behind heroes and can relate to it. By introducing a problem and then getting Eco Boy to solve it, it surely looks like Eco Boy is a superhero. That’s why I chose Eco Boy to be a green superhero,” said Sultan.
The book has already been read a couple of times in some schools in Alkhobar. Having received positive feedback, Sultan is now reading it in Jeddah.
