The accords were concluded on the fringes of a two-day official visit to Jordan by French Prime Minister Francois Fillon.
Under one of the agreements, the two countries will be involved in a joint venture for the exploration and production of uranium inside Jordan.
The Jordan French Uranium Mining Company (JFUMC) has been set up as a joint venture between the French mining giant, AREVA, and the Jordan Energy Resources Inc. for this purpose.
According to the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), Jordan is home to some 130,000 tons of uranium, most of which is found within 1.5 meters of the surface and suitable for extraction.
Another agreement signed on Sunday commits France to help Jordan to advance its nuclear program for peaceful uses, including the training of necessary manpower.
Jordan's first nuclear power plant, a 1,000-megawattt Generation III reactor, is expected to be built about 25 kilometers south of the port of the Red Sea port of Aqaba within the next decade, officials said.
Addressing a meeting of leading businessmen from the two countries, Fillon and his Jordanian counterpart Samir Rifai spoke about the building of "business partnership" in the coming years.
Rifai invited French investments in key regional projects, foremost the multi-billion-dollar canal due to connect the Red Sea and the Dead Sea, a railway linking Middle East countries with the aim of promoting regional trade, and a venture for exploiting the country's oil shale deposits.
He pointed out that French firms were instrumental in accomplishing the country's privatization scheme over the past decade.
Rifai referred mainly to France Telecom, which had obtained a 40 percent stake in the country's national telecommunication firm, now known as Orange, and La Farge which is involved in a cement factory partnership.
