The fire raged for over two hours at Garib and Garib Newaj Garment factory in the town of Gazipur some 50 km (31 miles) north of the capital Dhaka. Fire services said 18 workers were seriously injured, including 13 women.
Fires often kill large numbers of workers in clothes factories, the country's largest export sector.
