Chairman of the reconciliation section at Makkah general court counselor Muhammad Al-Mukhtar Muhammad Mawloud told Arab News that at the execution square and only seconds before the swordsman did his job, the father of the murdered girl pardoned the killer sparing him a certain death.
He said it was the father himself who took off the blindfold from the eyes of the murderer and untied him giving him a new life.
Mawloud said the security men, including the prison guards, the Makkah police and the staff of the Makkah court were asking the father for pardon during the entire litigation period. “The father finally agreed to all these pleas and pardoned the murderer,” he said. Mawloud, who did not identify either the murderer or his savior, commended what the father had done and said his action would be rewarded by Almighty Allah.
“At situations like these, the blood owners should not listen to the Satan who works hard to increase their pain and suffering over their beloved ones and should be forgiving and tolerant because they will be tremendously awarded by Allah,” he said.
Mawloud said the execution of a murderer will not reduce the pains of the families of the murdered ones but they will feel superior when they forgive.
He also advised the families of the murdered persons to take blood money instead and use it for anything that would benefit their murdered ones like building mosques or making other welfare projects.
