Ales Kotalik, Ian White, Jay Bouwmeester, Niklas Hagman and Rene Bourque scored for the Flames. Miikka Kiprusoff made 31 saves.
Alex Ovechkin got his 46th goal for Washington and added an assist to reach the 100-point mark for the fourth time in his five-year career. David Steckel and Mathieu Perreault also scored for the Capitals, who lost at home in regulation for the fifth time in 36 games.
Penguins 5 Maple Leafs 4, SO: In Pittsburgh, Sidney Crosby ended a seven-game stretch without a goal by scoring twice, then he and teammate Pascal Dupuis added shootout tallies as Pittsburgh rallied to beat Toronto.
The Penguins trailed 4-3 until Matt Cooke deflected defenseman Brooks Orpik’s slap shot from the right point with 3:48 remaining in regulation. Orpik had his first three-point game by also assisting on Crosby’s NHL-leading 46th and 47th goals.
Tyler Kennedy also scored as the Penguins moved ahead of New Jersey 95-93 for the Atlantic Division lead and the likely No. 2 seeding in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Flyers 5 Devils 1: In Philadelphia, Brian Boucher stopped 32 shots, and five players scored as slumping Philadelphia broke out with a rout of New Jersey.
Matt Carle, Ville Leino, Kimmo Timonen, Lukas Krajicekand Simon Gagne scored for Philadelphia, which beat the Devils for the fifth time in six meetings this season.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored the lone goal for New Jersey, which dropped two points behind Pittsburgh in the Atlantic Division. Martin Brodeur allowed four goals on 19 shots.
The Flyers had dropped five straight and seven of eight, putting their seemingly secure playoff chances in jeopardy. Philadelphia scored more than three goals for the first time in 15 games.
Philadelphia jumped from eighth in the Eastern Conference to sixth. The Flyers lead ninth-place Atlanta by four points with six games left.
Blue Jackets 4 Blackhawks 2: In Chicago, Jakub Voracek had two goals and an assist, and Steve Mason made 33 saves to lead Columbus over struggling Chicago.
Andrew Murray and Mike Commodore also scored for Columbus, which beat Central Division-leading Chicago for the second time in four days. The Blackhawks are 2-4-2 in their last eight.
Dave Bollandand Patrick Sharp scored against Mason, who made several timely close-in stops and was supported by tight-checking play. Antti Niemi started for the fourth time in five games for the Blackhawks and made 16 saves.
Derick Brassard and R.J. Umberger each had two assists for the Blue Jackets.
Blues 2 Oilers 1: In St. Louis, Keith Tkachuk scored the winning goal on his 38th birthday, and St. Louis maintained slim playoff hopes with a victory over Edmonton.
Tkachuk’s 13th goal of the season was his first in 15 games. It snapped a 1-1 tie 7:36 into the third period.
Defenseman Erik Johnson got St. Louis even at 1 with a power-play goal in the second period.
Edmonton took a 1-0 lead in the first on Patrick O’Sullivan’s unassisted goal.
Sharks 4 Avalanche 3: In San Jose, Calif., Devin Setoguchi had two goals, and San Jose— without injured leading scorer Joe Thornton—beat Colorado.
Thornton, tops on the team with 66 assists and 85 points, sat out Sunday after being knocked out in the second period of Saturday’s win over Vancouver by an undisclosed lower body injury. Thornton had played in 398 consecutive games.
San Jose (47-19-10) has a four-point lead over Phoenix in the race for the Pacific Division title.
Colorado, the eighth-place team in the West, leads Calgary by four points at the postseason cutoff line.
