The man in his 30s was able to lure young women by promising them jobs through a regular advert in a weekly publication, Al-Madinah daily reported on Sunday.
Bandar Al-Rabish, spokesman of the Haia branch in Madinah, said the man was arrested after receiving a complaint from one of his victims. He has been handed to police for further questioning.
Al-Rabish said that the man had threatened to put the photographs of the women on the Internet unless they fulfilled his sordid desires.
The man allegedly managed to gain access to the personal data and photos of the women by advertising job vacancies for a bogus women's project.
“Subsequently, more than 100 applications with photographs of the victims were mailed to the man. It was revealed that the man had contacted 117 young women,” Al-Rabish said, adding that the suspect was caught while attempting to blackmail one of his victims.
