The man is claiming his 18-year-old son jumped from the car after he was kidnapped by three youths. Police, however, ruled the death as a traffic accident rather than a crime incident.
The youngster’s body was found covered in blood close to a gas station where he fell from car. He was taken to Al-Leeth General Hospital and then died on his way to King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah.
The father is calling for an independent committee to investigate the death, adding that the three youths kidnapped his son to rape.
He also said they were on their way out of the province and that they did not stop after he fell from the car.
He said his son was taken to hospital by a motorist who found him on the roadside.
“I told police that I was not convinced with their investigation. I also complained to the Makkah governor and asked for an independent committee to investigate the matter,” he said.
However, a source at Al-Leeth police said that the investigation is over and that the incident was a traffic accident.
