The event — Saudi E-Health 2010 Symposium — has been organized by SAHI in collaboration with King Saud University and King Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
Sami Al-Shalaan, director of the conference’s press center, told Arab News that 50 experts, three health ministers and around four deputy ministers from the Middle East will participate in the three-day event.
“The purpose of the conference is to bring together health-care providers and IT experts to empower advancements in the delivery, quality and continuity of health care,” said Al-Shalaan.
He added that SAHI and health-care communities offer abundant opportunities for interaction and collaboration along with the Ministry of Health’s national e-health initiative.
The objective of the symposium, Al-Shalaan said, is to increase awareness about health informatics, and emphasize its importance in enhancing the quality of health-care delivery and ensuring the efficient utilization of resources.
He added that the event is also being held to create opportunities for networking, exchanging experiences and sharing knowledge in the field of health-care informatics, and to explore new e-health trends and technology.
The conference will focus on introducing key concepts, issues and applications in applied health informatics.
