The society with its headquarters in Riyadh will serve heritage sites across the Kingdom. The society will be a strong partner with the SCTA in conserving the national heritage and highlighting the cultural significance of the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
The society will announce its first board of directors in a meeting of all 109 founding members. The meeting will be held at the National Museum at the King Abdul Aziz Historical Center in Riyadh on Monday.
SCTA Chairman Prince Sultan bin Salman has invited all members to attend the founding meeting of the society.
The prince had ordered SCTA to study the establishment of the society in coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and in consultation with a large number of princes, social leaders and those who are interested in heritages in various parts of the Kingdom. The formation of the society is in line with the objectives of the SCTA, which has given the highest priority to conserving sites of historical and natural importance.
