Prince Salman received the medal during a ceremony organized by the academy in Berlin. A number of German scientists and academics attended the event.
In a speech on the occasion, Prince Salman thanked the academy officials for awarding him the medal.
“I am proud to receive this medal,” he said. “The fact is that we carry out the directives of our wise leaders for the country’s progress. We in the Kingdom cooperate on virtue and piety as Islam orders its followers. I am happy to be here. I hope that there would be continuing relations between the Kingdom and Germany especially in the area of sciences,” the prince said.
The award ceremony was attended by an official delegation accompanying Prince Salman and a number of officials, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Prince Salman, who arrived in Berlin on Sunday, concluded his four-day visit to Germany on Wednesday.
At Berlin’s Tegel Airport, Prince Salman was seen off by Prince Faisal bin Salman, chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group, and Saudi Ambassador to Germany Osama Shobokshi.
