Another rape victim rescued by the consulate in Al-Qumriyah district in Taif left on Sunday.
The woman has a seven-year-old daughter who is under the custody of her mother in the central Philippine island province of Bohol. She had been separated from her husband for many years before she came to work in Taif three years ago. She claimed that during the three years that she was working for the Saudi family, she was repeatedly raped by her sponsor.
Before she was rescued, the housemaid used to send SMS or text messages to Villamor asking for help.
She had earlier tried to contact the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah, but could not say exactly where she was, making it difficult to find her.
The housemaid wanted that her sponsor be jailed but decided to drop the case after the latter agreed that she be repatriated immediately and paid her SR10,000. The public right in this matter was also dropped against the alleged repeat rapist.
