The festivals have been organized by the SCTA in conjunction with the tourism development committees of various chambers of commerce and industry across the Kingdom.
Details of the festivals and other tourist activities will be made known to the participants on the first day. There will also be an exhibition where tourism companies will showcase their wares.
Hamad Al-Asheikh, director general of programs and products at the SCTA, said the event will be attended by officials of various tourism development committees from across the Kingdom as well as investors. He also said the event aims to shed light on tourist activities during the summer. “The event is also being held to give people in the industry a chance to network, exchange information and experiences,” he added.
Al-Asheikh said the committees organizing this year’s summer festivals have concluded their preparations early and that events will be better and different than previous years.
The SCTA, said Al-Asheikh, is providing the necessary technical, marketing, financial and media support to the committees to maximize on the Kingdom’s tourism potential and turn the Kingdom into a premium tourist destination for Saudis.
