Menezes has been coaching Corinthians but will now replace Dunga, who was fired days after Brazil lost to the Netherlands in the World Cup quarterfinals in South Africa.
Menezes said Saturday that “I have agreed with satisfaction and pride to coach the national team.” Ramalho turned down the Brazilian football federation on Friday because his Fluminense deal was recently extended until 2012.
Brazil will host the 2014 World Cup.
