The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has just recognized JVC for its innovative use of Bluetooth technology in the HD Everio GZ-HM550. Aside from the camera's long battery life and great product features, the HD Everio GZ-HM550 employs a variety of Bluetooth wireless technology applications that further the capabilities of the device.
The HD Everio GZ-HM550 records both HD video and nine megapixel digital stills. What's really groundbreaking though is that once the device is paired to a compatible smartphone, the HD Everio GZ-HM550 can be controlled remotely, performing basic operations such as recording, zooming and playing a recording back. Still images captured on the HD Everio GZ-HM550 can be wirelessly transferred to a smartphone, making it easy to store and transport favorite photos. After pairing the device to a compatible Bluetooth headset, sound can be monitored wirelessly while shooting and recording the user's own voice. The HD Everio GZ-HM550 also provides the use of geo-tracking, which allows the user to record location data with the help of a GPS unit. When files are played back, they synchronize with Google Earth on a PC and the location data is displayed on screen. See a demo of its features through .
While the Enviro is an incredible HD camcorder, Panasonic has gone to the next level — 3D. The Panasonic HDC-SDT750 camcorder allows anyone to create true-to-life 3D images by simply attaching a 3D conversion lens that comes with the device. Consumers are starting to purchase 3D TVs, but finding suitable 3D content for viewing has been a challenge. Panasonic's new camcorder will help to overcome that issue. Incorporating professional 3D broadcast technology, the advanced 3MOS System SDT750 camcorder lets users easily create their own 3D movies, something that previously only specialized image producers had been able to do.
According to Panasonic, the high-sensitivity 3MOS System provides an effective motion image pixel count of 7,590,000 pixels (2,530,000 pixels x 3). And even with this high pixel count, newly developed technology increases sensitivity, and further-evolved NR technology achieves vivid images with minimal noise when shooting under low light conditions. This maximizes the 3MOS features of excellent color reproduction, high resolution and rich gradation, and lets the user capture vibrant images in both bright and dimly lit places.
Recording in 1,080/60p for NTSC or 1,080/50p for PAL, the SDT750 camcorder produces richly expressive images, with none of the detail loss and flickering of the conventional 1,080i (interlace) recording. In addition, the Intelligent Auto (iA) function, which was very popular on previous models, makes it easy for anyone to shoot beautiful videos. The SDT750 camcorder also newly incorporates the HYBRID optical image stabilizer (OIS) system to bring clear HD image quality to telephoto shots as well. The camcorder goes on sale in Japan on August 20, to be followed in other countries in the autumn of this year.
