The municipality said a further 200kg of fish were found to
be suitable and were given to welfare societies to distribute among the poor
and needy.
Director of the municipality’s department of slaughterhouses
and animal markets Dr. Nasser ibn Muhammad Al-Jarallah said the inspection
campaigns covered 102 fishmongers, four parks for trucks carrying frozen fish
and four cafeterias offering fish sandwiches.
He also said imported fish is also inspected to make sure
that they are suitable for human consumption.
