“The catalog shows were a great success indeed. They were an
ideal platform for Saudi businessmen to find suitable suppliers of targeted
products. They saved money and time in traveling to find out products they
could import from Taiwan,” TECRO Economic Counselor We-kung Lai told Arab News
on Saturday.
Lai said that in Buraidah, Dr. Ibrahim Chao, TECRO’s
representative in the Kingdom, graced the show opened by Dr. Faisal bin Abd
Al-Karim Al-Khamis, secretary general of the Qassim Chamber of Commerce &
Industry.
In Dammam, Jacques Wu, TECRO’s deputy representative,
attended the show opened by Abdulrahman Aljalal, assistant secretary general
for Administration Affairs at the Eastern Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Lai said that 456 Taiwanese companies participated in the
shows and more than 20,000 catalogs were provided. “The catalogs displayed
consisted of 11 industrial fields including IT products, toys, gifts and
stationary; household and leisure equipment; chemical and medical supplies;
agricultural products; food and minerals; paper and packing materials and
rubber products; machines and tools; transportation-related products, textiles
and leather; fashion and beauty accessories; construction materials and
furniture, among others,” Lai said.
About 400 Saudi businessmen attended the shows in Dammam and
Buraidah.
