“In each establishment, good employees make plans actual, and hopes and wishes reality. … Only they can reach this through effort and good human resources departments,” said Ahmad bin Mansour Al-Zamil, director of the Human Resources Development Fund.“Good management of human resources is the (back bone) of each government and private organization. … It can develop and raise the level of performance of all staff in companies,” he added.Al-Zamil praised the efforts of companies like BAE Systems for increasing the number of Saudis in employment, adding that Saudization at BAE Systems has reached 60 percent this year. “The aim is not just to achieve an abstract number but added value in the number of Saudi employees with actual qualifications,” he said.He said many unemployed Saudis do not find jobs because they do not meet job market requirements and that this is due to a lack of proper preparation. “Only if we can develop our human resources department can we be prepared to hire new graduates and give them proper orientation and training,” he said.Munther Al-Tayyeb, director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at BAE Systems, said the ultimate objective of the forum is to signify the need for a total performance mentality among employees. “We need to spread the culture that a good working environment leads to total performance,” Al-Tayyeb said.“We believe in our employees, and we believe they deserve to be motivated and such forums are tools to help us provide them with the best they need,” he added.Other speakers at the event included Salah Al-Zamil, executive vice president for human resources at the Saudi Telecom Company; Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Shiekh, vice president for support at the Supreme Commission for Tourism and Antiquities; Tony McCarthy, vice president of human resources and business operations at BAE; and Majid Al-Muzairi, director of HR Centers of Excellence at BAE.
