The father, 56, strangled the 17-year-old before dragging and throwing the body into the well.
He then told police that the victim had gone missing two months ago. Police began a search for the teenager.
Last month, police found the victim’s body in the well. A number of suspects were arrested, but all were released when police did not find any evidence linking them to the murder.
Police began suspecting the father and started investigating him. The youth's stepmother eventually broke down and confessed to officers.
Police will send the couple to the local court to authenticate their confession. They said the stepmother’s statement was different from the father’s.
Meanwhile, a lawyer of one of the suspects arrested in the case said he will file a lawsuit against the police for holding his client for more than a month without evidence, saying his reputation was damaged as a result.
