During a press conference, the minister said there are 75 stationed cameras, 11 mobile camera units and 11 satellite transmitters to provide a live broadcast of the annual pilgrimage.
The Haj can be viewed live on the Qur'an and Sunnah channels. The minister said a budget, along with maps and designs, for a permanent ministry building at Mina will be presented to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for approval. The ministry is also planning a TV station and public library buildings in Makkah.
Khoja said his ministry has been instructed by King Abdullah to serve and aid pilgrims and facilitate their stay until they return safely to their countries. The minister also called on all local, national and international press groups to state the facts as they witness them and to reflect on the distinguished services the Kingdom is offering during this holy season.
