If results of the exit polls in Kosovo’s first national elections since 2008 independence are confirmed, Thaci would need support from other parties to form a coalition government.
The ex-coalition partner LDK garnered 25 percent. The poll of more than 2,000 voters has a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
Both parties seek European Union and NATO membership for Kosovo, continued privatization of state enterprises, and talks with Serbia, but have given few concrete details about their programs to boost one of the poorest economies in Europe.
