Sense of relief and joy over news of Abdullah’s recovery

Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs Prince Muhammad bin Naif expressed his great happiness at the recovery of King Abdullah who left hospital late Tuesday.
“This is a historic day that will remain fresh in the hearts of all Saudis,” Prince Muhammad said, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.
The king underwent two surgeries in a New York hospital following a herniated disc and blood clot. The first surgery to correct the disc and remove the clot was undertaken on Nov. 24. The second operation on Dec. 3 was to stabilize several vertebrae on the spinal cord, according to an earlier Royal Court statement.
Prince Muhammad congratulated Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation; Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Prince Naif and the entire Saudi citizens for the recovery of the king.
In a statement on the occasion, Secretary-General of the Shoura Council Muhammad Al-Ghamdi congratulated the crown prince, second deputy premier and the royal family.
State Minister and Member of the Council of Ministers Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd expressed his happiness at the news of the king leaving the hospital.
On receiving the news of the king’s regained health, President of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Humayen thanked Almighty Allah. Al-Humayen said that not only Saudis but all the Muslims in the world were pleased at the news of the recovery of the king.
“All people, who have been following the news about the king’s health with praying hearts, are now delighted at the restoration of the health to the king. Their hearts are filled with gratitude to Allah,” Al-Humayen said in a media statement on Thursday.
“The Haj pilgrims, particularly, those who benefited from the king’s service to the holy sites have been imploring the Almighty for the good health,” he said in the statement.
In a cable sent to the king, Jazan Gov. Prince Muhammad bin Nasir, expressed his delight at the news of the king’s discharge from hospital.
Minister of Haj Fouad Al-Farsi, who congratulated the king on the occasion, prayed for the king’s long life.
Labor Minister Adel Fakieh said: “People’s prayers for the king’s health have been heard. All of them have been praying for the healthy return of the king to the Kingdom after the king ordered that the people should be informed of his health condition.”
He added that after a limited number of days the king would return to complete the revival he started.
