OLG’s Asian Bazaar proves a success

In his opening address, Nepal Ambassador Hamid Ansari, whose embassy was the event host this year, said that this one-day bazaar was a result of an active participation and consistent work from the embassies of the seven countries in Riyadh, as well as of the officials of KFCC and support of some local companies, to all of whom he extended his sincere thanks.
“It is no wonder that this event helps to pave the way for expanding and deepening our cross-cultural understanding and promoting international cooperation between and among ourselves,” he added.
Acting Chairwoman of OLG Pracbina Ghimire, who is also the wife of the deputy of chief of mission at the Nepal Embassy, told Arab News that about 3,000 tickets were sold.
“As usual the event proceeds will go to some charitable activities in two states member at OLG, to be determined by the OLG Board at its upcoming meeting, “ Ghimire pointed out.
Stalls from the seven participant countries in the event were the feature of the event. Traditional handicrafts, artifacts, clothing materials and exotic Asian food of each country were presented.
