Executive Chairman of Insan Prince Faisal bin Salman will attend the function, which is being organized as part of the educational programs implemented by Insan designed to prompt outstanding orphans to put in extra efforts in their schoolwork.
At the event, 331 students who received outstanding grades in various academic levels in 2009-10 will be honored.
They come from the society’s branches in Riyadh and its surrounding areas, including Al-Kharj, Aflaj, Dawadmi, Al-Zilfi and Al-Majmaa.
The charitable society also assists its students to go abroad as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Scholarship Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education. More than 32,000 orphans are currently on the rolls of Insan Society.
According to Prince Faisal, chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group, Insan’s specific objectives are “to uplift and improve the quality of life of orphans by participating specifically in programs dealing in education, care and feeding schemes, prevention and psycho-social support.” The society provides them with moral and material support while they live with their natural families, he added.
The Insan also receives support from the state and society.
Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman announced a donation of SR2 million for Insan on behalf of himself, his sons and grandchildren on the 10th anniversary of the society in April. Total donations raised during the event reached SR48 million.
“Insan has started building a model village to accommodate orphans facing special situations.
We have trained 2,500 orphans and most of them have got jobs,” said Hamoud Al-Badr, its secretary-general, on an earlier occasion.
During the last two years the society spent more than SR300 million, Al-Badr said, adding that the board approved a budget of SR175.7 million for 2010, projecting an 11 percent increase in spending during the year compared to 2009.
Al-Badr said Insan spent more than SR600 million during the past 10 years on various humanitarian projects for the benefit of orphans.
He disclosed plans to establish endowment towers and properties with an estimated  annual income of SR13 million.
