Speaking here Sunday at the concluding session of the Hind Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), a outfit of the RSS, which has more than 900 branches in 40 countries including the US, UK France, and the Scandinavian countries, Bhagwat in his speech claimed that a Hindu can never harm any person from another religion.
On terrorism, Bhagwat said that Hindu and terrorism are contradictory words. “Whenever some incidents of terror takes place in the country allegedly by the Pakistani based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), fingers are raised at the RSS and other Hindu outfits by the ruling alliance in Delhi which fears the growing mass base of the values promoted by the RSS and every time the Congress led United Progressive Front (UPA) government view a threat to their power, the RSS bogey is raised.
Bhagwat said that associating Hindu with terrorism is wrong. “Even in a country like Pakistan, the government or the people there haven’t dared so far to refer to a thing like Hindu Terrorism. Unfortunately some leaders in India do not lose the opportunity of coining new terms every other moment and speaking about saffron terrorism and majority terrorism, he said adding that some selfish strategies of leaders from our country are painting the Hindus in a bad picture just to stick to power.
Launching an scathing attack on the Congress party; the RSS chief said that there exist tendencies among the Congress leaders to target the RSS by associating it with terrorism to divert public attention from corruption and scams. “The Congress and their alliance leaders ruling the country under the flagship of UPA find it easy to make a scapegoat out of the RSS when they are themselves unable to deal with a situation of their won making.”
