“The projects include road and utility networks, health and education infrastructures, recreation and tourism facilities, administrative and cultural installations, and research centers,” said Abdullatif bin Abdul-Malik Al-Sheikh, president of the Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA).
Al-Sheikh said the meeting also reviewed progress of work at Ras Al-Zour Desalination Plant, a project for the establishment of water tanks in Riyadh, transport lines and a water distribution system. It discussed the establishment of the 10th and 11th energy stations, the Dayrub tunnels and a sewage treatment plant.
The meeting also discussed Prince Salman Project for Science and its branches all over the city, including the historic Al-Diriya development project, King Fahd National Library Extension and King Abdullah International Gardens.
The progress of work at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education and other vital projects such as the extension of the Gulf Cooperation Council headquarters was also discussed.
“The meeting reviewed the progress on work at the King Abdullah Financial Complex, Arriyadh Valley for Technology, King Saud University Endowments and other projects,” Al-Sheikh said. He added that a letter of intent was also “settled for the contract to develop the first phase of Batha Wadi.”
Al-Sheikh, who is also a member of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, added that the Ministry of Transport presented a report on its road projects to the meeting. He said allocations for the projects were endorsed in the provincial budget, which was announced recently.
