He was inaugurating a training program on Sunday for health officials involved in home care.
The official said that 25 percent of such patients suffer from chronic ailments such as diabetes and cardiac and renal diseases, while 23 percent of them are patients who had paralytic strokes or neurological disorders. About 18 percent of them are affliccted with psychiatric problems, while another eight percent suffer from age-related dementia. Two percent are cancer sufferers.
Besides the health officials, there is a fleet of 80 vehicles deployed in all parts of the Kingdom to facilitate the various medical teams to visit even remote areas, Al-Thubaithi said.
