Saher has reasons to be proud on this day as she is the first principal of any Pakistani school outside the country to receive the prestigious the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (medal of excellence) for her dedicated service in the field of education.
Saher will receive the award from the President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Saher, when conferred the medal, was cited for her services. “Sehar Kamran has been serving the cause of education with true dedication and her meritorious services for uplifting the school have been highly appreciated. She has played an active and commendable role in overall uplift of the school and acquiring international recognition,” the citation said.
Sehar, who has been working at PISJ-ES since 1999, credited her staff for the recognition she received. “I have the most dedicated team and co-workers, the teachers as well as the administrative staff, who assist me whole-heartedly in all my endeavors. It would not have been possible to achieve anything without their support, I thank them all on this occasion,” Saher said.
Speaking about PISJ-ES’ inception Saher said, “Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto envisioned a vibrant and innovative seat of learning to nurture our future generation, and hence, she gave her approval for the establishment of this institution in 1995. She supported all our efforts to make our dreams come true.”
Speaking about its curriculum and facilities, Saher said, “PISJ-ES offers well-recognized UK courses and maintains high standards of instruction, at PISJ-ES we provide supportive environment for studies and all facilities that any international standard institution should have. We have at our campus state-of-the-art classrooms, equipped with interactive e-boards, Internet connection, networking facilities in confirmation with the standards laid down by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and international accrediting bodies.”
She said co-curricular programs are planned to support the academic activities, and to instill a sense of responsibility and confidence in the students. “Now we have begun offering undergraduate programs,” she added.
“Our undergraduate program is an effort toward serving the community living in Jeddah. One of the prime motives behind the establishment of undergraduate program was helping community in keeping their families unified. As always, our goal is to provide quality education with affordability. It is just the beginning of a better tomorrow and we look forward to growing further in the years to come,” Saher said.
Apart from academic excellence, the PISJ-ES also focuses on social and charitable service. In the aftermath of the recent floods, the PISJ-ES started a fund-raising campaign to help thousands of Pakistanis who had been displaced by the devastating deluge.
