"This was in continuation of the ministry's plan to open more appeals courts in various parts of the Kingdom," said a statement from the Ministry of Justice.
The new court has 49 judges who will be manning seven summary, six legal and two personal affairs' departments. It receives an average of 250 litigants every day.
The building of the first notary public will consist of five stories with 80 offices in which about 19 notaries public receive about 150 people and work to complete about 200 requests every day.
The ministry has also contracted a consultant to conduct a study on the establishment of a court complex in Makkah to include the General Court, the Court of Appeals, the Summary Court and the Personal Affairs Court in addition to a conference hall.
