Chairperson of the committee the organized the fund-raiser, Raniya Al-Harith, said she expected the cream of Jeddah society and a number of Saudi painters to attend the event. Proceeds from the sale will go to Al-Widad Welfare Society for orphaned children.
“The paintings cover various art schools and the exhibition will be the beginning of partnership between art and the charity and humanitarian work,” she said, adding that the event is aimed at conveying the message of charity work to all members of society. She stressed that the exhibition is open for everyone.
The chairperson said she hoped that a large number of people will visit the exhibition and that all preparatory committees are working as a team to make the exhibition a success. She thanked all exhibiting artists and said their participation is a commendable initiation to serve the needy segments of society.
Hisham Qindeel, director of Jeddah Atelier, said the exhibition will open wide doors for artists to enter the field of public service and contribute to charity and humanitarian work through the donation of proceeds from sales. “This is the first time such a large number of Saudi painters have come together to support humanitarian cause,” he said.
