The event will be used to launch Benefit Arabia, an event-planning nonprofit organization with the prime aim of addressing and supporting good causes throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event, hosted by Benefit Arabia, will also be used to fundraise for Al-Wedad foundation, which is the first foundation specialized in supporting orphans without identities.
“The Al-Wedad Charitable Society in Jeddah, which has received four orphans from the Asir branch of the Ministry of Social Affairs, is looking for Saudi families to sponsor the children. The society is making maximum efforts to ensure that Saudi families care for orphans so that they can overcome the social stigmas and psychological barriers when they grow up,” said Raneem Darwish, the PR representative at Benefit Arabia.
“There are many reasons for an art auction. The most common reason is to help an organization raise money for a special project or to operate funds. In fact, it is a sophisticated and easy way for a nonprofit organization to raise money. Such a fund-raising event is simple to organize and will attract buyers eager to spend money on high-quality artwork. The best part is that fundraising with an art auction requires little overhead,” added Darwish.
The auction will exhibit around 500 paintings, but will also have different arts from photography and sculptures to digital art and traditional paintings.
“We do not have a specific theme for the event, so we have everything from contemporary to fashionable, classic to modern, calligraphy to graffiti, religion to uniting race, abstract to theoretical, Western to Eastern and local to international. Whether the auction is for an art gallery or to raise funds for a charity, there are several things that will help the fundraiser be successful,” said Darwish.
The organization aims to collect money by selling tickets, art pieces and sponsorships. “Tickets will be sold at the gate for SR150 and the artists will be selling their artworks as well. To ensure the money is used correctly, a member from Benefit Arabia, along with two members of Al-Wedad Society Foundation, will oversee the completion of each student’s community service hours at Dar Al Hekma College,” she added.
“Whatever amount comes in is the least we need. After all, this is all for charity and we will give all that we can. However, we are aiming for SR 25,000,” said Darwish.
Founded in 2010 by Rania Al Harith, Benefit Arabia seeks to address the direst social and medical issues through the establishment of a brand that creates a fusion between entertainment, networking and social impact. The organization sheds light on several causes through the creation of events ranging from art auctions to bazaars. In essence, Benefit Arabia is coupling networking and entertainment for the sake of doing well. Proceeds from each event will go towards good causes.
