Currently there are only four entries to and exits from east Jeddah districts where approximately 900,000 people reside, many of whom cross the expressway to get to and from their jobs. At peak commuting hours it can take 30 minutes just to cross the expressway
A member of the council expected the problem of traffic bottlenecks in east Jeddah to finish when the existing bridges and flyovers, which have been demolished to construct the track for the Haramain Railway, are reopened.
“The exits and entries to east Jeddah districts will be reconstructed to end any traffic congestion in the area,” he said.
