FIFA says it is investigating the case but has not decided
if Thailand broke rules, which could allow Palestine to advance instead.
Thailand eliminated Palestine on penalties in March after a
second-leg match in the West Bank. It was the first competitive international
match played in Palestinian.
However, FIFA is studying whether Thailand midfielder
Sucharit Chanthakul should have served a suspension when he played in the first
leg.
Thailand is scheduled to play Bahrain in a two-leg series on
June 19 and 23 in the second round of Asian qualifying.
