He said the national comprehensive health care program, which has been presented to higher authorities, would help improve health services in the Kingdom.
“We have adopted the slogan ‘Patient first,’ set out a number of strategies to provide utmost care for patients and deployed qualified staff for the purpose,” he said.
Abdul Rahman Al-Shaqawi, director general of the Institute of Public Administration, said the seminar was aimed at shedding light on the ministry’s present services and the challenges it faces.
“Despite government’s efforts to provide the best health care, studies show that the services are poor in some regions and below the expectations of beneficiaries,” he said.
Al-Shaqawi highlighted the challenges facing the Kingdom’s health sector, most importantly the increase in population, shortage of specialized and qualified manpower and speedy technological advancement.
