“The new development plan will meet all the requirements of the city’s residents,” he told the gathering.
He said citizens have the right to question the quality of any development project.
“We’ll consider such complaints and take punitive action against negligent officials after conducting an investigation,” he said.
Prince Khaled said his visit to Jamoom was on the instructions of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to learn the requirements of citizens in the city. “I am happy to learn that many Jamoom students have returned to the city, increasing its population and job opportunities,” he said. He also met with school and university students in Jamoom and urged them to work hard to take the Kingdom to new heights of progress and prosperity.
“You are the future of this country. This is your country, which pins great hope on you in order to keep the Kingdom and your city in a better position,” the governor told the students. Prince Khaled held talks with members of the Jamoom Council on the city’s future requirements.
“Jamoom is considered the northern gateway of Makkah. We have implemented a number of development projects worth SR750 million in the city,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prince Khaled opened the Makkah Gardens project, which was implemented by the mayoralty at Nawariya Park, north of the holy city.
“We have a plan to establish more than 40 parks in various parts of Makkah at a total cost of SR100 million,” said Makkah Mayor Osama Al-Bar.
The mayoralty has signed a SR40 million contract to build 30 new parks.
“We have plans to set up three community and sports centers,” he said, adding that his organization has given utmost importance to constructing parks in order to make the city beautiful and increase recreational facilities for citizens and residents of the city.
