Brig. Abdullah Al-Thumali, director of public relations at special forces, said Al-Qahtani has been posthumously promoted to the next rank. His family will receive all allowances he used to get. He will also be awarded King Abdul Aziz Medal of the Third Order in addition to a medal of honor.
His family will get a house worth SR500,000 in a place they wish. His parents will receive SR3,000 each as monthly salary. The government will also pay Al-Qahtani's debts up to SR500,000, if any. The diplomat's father Misfer thanked the government for the gesture.
