Jos Claes, Superior of the order for the Netherlands and Belgium, says the priest, identified as “Father Van B.” cannot serve in any church function anywhere.
RTL Nieuws published interviews this weekend in which Van B. acknowledged being fined for lewd conduct and serving on the board of “Martijn,” a club that promotes legalizing pedophilia.
His superior, Herman Spronck, said he was aware of Van B.’s past but not all adult-child sexual relationships are harmful.
The order’s leadership in Rome will decide further measures, Claes said Monday by telephone from Brussels.
