The decision was taken when the Ministry Of Justice’s annual report was presented by the council's committee on Islamic affairs and the judiciary.
The new recommendations would include the creation of new departments in courthouses to streamline its activities according to the budget allocated for the ministry.
The fifth ordinary session of the council was chaired by its speaker Abdullah Al-Asheikh on Monday.
Speaking to reporters following Monday's session, Shoura Council Secretary General Muhammed Al-Ghamdi said the members were making recommendations based on the vision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, who is keen on judicial reforms as well as development in the judiciary, especially with regard to court complexes and its administrative units.
The house also told the Ministry Of Justice to monitor and control marriages involving minors in the Kingdom. The house insisted that registrars should exercise extra care when dealing with such cases.
Earlier, the Saudi National Human Rights Association (NHRA) criticized the prevalence of marriages involving minors in the Kingdom and considered it a violation of childhoods. The association sought to work with authorities to curb the practice and protect children's rights.
It was indicated by the association that underage marriages are also a breach of several United Nations treaties including the Child Rights Treaty, which the Kingdom signed in 1996 and the Treaty for the Rights of Women that Saudi Arabia joined in 2000.
Meanwhile, Al-Asheikh received today Portuguese Ambassador Antonio Maria de Souza at his office in Riyadh on Sunday.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields, especially parliamentary relations between the council and the Portuguese parliament.
They also discussed means of improving the role of committees within the Saudi-Portuguese Parliamentary Friendship Group to serve their people’s interests.
A delegation from the Shoura Council visiting Czech capital Prague met Saudi students on Monday.
The Saudi delegation was headed by chairman of the Saudi-Czech Parliamentary Friendship Committee Hasan bin Farid Abduljawad, who said most of the Saudi students have come to Prague for higher studies under the King Abdullah Scholarship scheme.
Addressing Saudi students in Prague, Abduljawad commended the scholarship scheme for providing students with advanced scientific specialties and acquainting them with various cultures and civilizations in the world.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Cultural Attaché to Austria Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Humaidi and Saudi Consul and Counselor at the Saudi Embassy in the Czech Republic Mohammed Abduldayem.
