The office said the feud erupted among members of Al-Damashqa and Al-Siqoor tribes after a man from the latter was killed. The murderer was chased and shot dead and many others were injured. The violent acts continued between the two tribes, with each losing two members.
According to his office, officials on behalf of the governor succeeded in persuading the two tribes to sign a peace accord.
Prince Mishaal thanked the leaders of the two tribes for their responses to his reconciliation efforts, describing their act as noble that really expressed true Arab hospitality and tolerance.
The office said the governor had contributed to ending many similar cases between the region's tribes, especially when murder cases were involved. He has established a special reconciliation committee in the local governorate to end hostilities among tribes and to stop vengeance acts.
