Gen. Honore Nabere Traore said Saturday that six soldiers
died in an exchange of gunfire Friday with troops sent to quell four days of
shooting and looting by soldiers in Bobo-Dioulasso.
Traore said the girl was accidentally hit by a bullet during
the exchange of fire Friday.
Justice Minister Jerome Traore says 25 civilians and eight
soldiers were wounded during the mutiny. He said 57 soldiers have been arrested
and will go to court for “rebellion and stealing goods.” Residents say the
chaos has stopped and calm has returned to Bobo-Dioulasso.
Burkina Faso has seen unrest by soldiers, teachers and
students since February.
