That would put OPEC’s 2011 export earnings 33 percent higher than last year’s $778 billion and above the old record of $966 billion set in 2008 when crude reached $147 a barrel in July and then fell sharply during the second half of that year.
The EIA said it expected OPEC’s oil export earnings will hit a new record high of $1.117 trillion in 2012.
