The meeting approved the setting up of a new committee for the implementation of science and environment education as an independent program in 162 secondary schools.
Al-Sultan added: “Work has been started for the implementation of a special program to promote the principle of clean environment in schools.”
This is expected to engender awareness among schoolchildren about the necessity of having a clean atmosphere for learning as well as the preservation of the environment for the current and future generations.
The meeting also explored the possibility of tapping various media organs to disseminate information on the city’s program on environmental protection.
It was agreed that the media play a vital role in the dissemination of information regarding the program for the next three years and the preparation of a comprehensive mass media strategy for the next 20 years.
