Police in the Kaaki district arrested the Indonesian house driver and his wife, a housemaid in the same house, for murdering their friend and hanging her body from a bathroom ceiling recently in an attempt to make the death look like a suicide.
The driver and his wife beat up and killed their friend following a dispute with the victim regarding some jewelry and money she had deposited with his wife some time ago. After an argument the husband-and-wife team, the confession asserts, dragged the woman into the bathroom and strangled her with a wire before stringing her body up from the ceiling.
The son of the family said he witnessed the struggle and called the police after locking the couple in the bathroom with the body.
The driver and his wife have been working in the house over the past 15 years, a police source said.
The accused are now in jail waiting for the verdict.
