July 13: The Black Keys with Cage The Elephant. Grammy Award winning blues-rock duo, The Black Keys, offer an electric mix of seventies psychedelic rock and hip-hop infused southern blues. The Hendrix and Zeppelin-influenced group attained widespread commercial success through the licensing of their songs to movies, video games, and television shows. Cage The Elephant are a Kentucky band is a group up-and-coming stars who are bringing a much needed kick to mainstream music through their folksy yet rocking beats. July 14: Fleet Foxes: Reminiscent of what Folk-rock music was during its heyday, the guys from Fleet Foxes are quickly reviving an entire genre. Fleet Foxes tour dates are currently scheduled internationally throughout Summer, 2011 in support of their upcoming sophomore effort, "Helplessness Blues." Vans Warped Tour 2011: Warped Tour is back for its 17th year and is sponsored by none other than Vans. Headlining the 2011 tour is 3Oh!3, Against Me!, Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!, August Burns Red, Gym Class Heroes, and The Devil Wears Prada. Warped Tour dates will of course feature the bands who have become a staple on tour dates in past years, along with some newcomers. Paramore Live: Before they were rock stars selling-out concert dates to thousands of screaming fans, they began as a garage band from Tennessee. Paramore is the premier pop punk band to rise to power in recent years, filling a gap left by Blink-182's many hiatuses. The group has become a huge success thanks to an accessible punk sound fronted by the sometimes fierce, sometimes melodic vocals of Hayley Williams. July 17: Larra Skye: Toronto songwriter Larra Skye sings with a sweet, lyrical voice tinged with folk and jazz. In 2006, Canadian music retailer HMV took her album The World Disappears across Canada, and Larra became their #1 bestselling independent jazz artist. Event details at Canoe.ca!
July 18: Josh Groban: He is the solo voice behind four albums, each of which have been certified multi-platinum, and is currently promoting his 5th, Illuminations. Josh Groban is undoubtedly one of the music industry’s most important discoveries and biggest success stories in recent years. OPETH Live: Opeth exist in a genre of one. The forward-thinking Swedish titans, who seamlessly and fluidly combine metal, rock, prog, folk and free form jazz, continue the time-honored Opeth tradition on Watershed, their second album for Roadrunner Records. Children of Bodom: The black metal outfit Children of Bodom formed in Espoo, Finland in 1993; named in reference to one of the most notorious mass-murders in Scandinavian history, the group was originally founded by singer/guitarist Alexi Laiho and drummer Jaska Raatikainen, with subsequent roster additions including guitarist Alexander 'Ale' Kuoppala, bassist Henkka Blacksmith and keyboardist Janne Wirman. July 24: Sia Live: Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, to use the name her musician parents gave her, already has a staggering track record. If her name itself-pronounced 'See-ah' isn't familiar to millions, her voice undoubtedly is.
