“News Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch and his son, James, answered all questions posed by MPs with full honesty and integrity,” Prince Alwaleed said in his statement.
Prince Alwaleed added: “I have known Rupert Murdoch for more than 20 years and James Murdoch for five years not only through the investments of my company, Kingdom Holding in News Corp but also through the 14 percent stake that News Corp owns in my privately owned media company, Rotana.
“Rotana covers the entire Middle East region through multi media outlets, and is continuously expanding its reach. I commend my friends and partners Rupert and James for addressing these serious issues head on, cooperating fully with the official inquiries and taking the appropriate steps to bring ethical reform to News Corp.”
Prince Alwaleed also said he continues to see News Corp as a valuable and long-term investment and remains both supportive and confident in the leadership of Rupert and James Murdoch.
