"Makinat Saudi Arabia 2011, the International Trade Exhibition for Industrial Machinery, Machine Tools, Equipment and Technology for Saudi Arabia, will add momentum to the sustained growth of the industrial sector by creating a definitive venue to discuss business opportunities regarding the Kingdom's vast investments of SR141 billion last year in its industrial projects," Kamil Al-Jawhari, project manager of Makinat Saudi Arabia at the Riyadh Exhibition Company (RHC) said on Saturday.
The event is to be held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center until Dec. 1.
"It will showcase the latest technological advances, state-of-the-art machineries and best practices in the industrial sector,” Jawhari said.
Jawhari pointed out that the industrial sector has achieved remarkable growth in recent years, creating an unprecedented surge in demand for a wide array of industrial machineries, tools, spare parts and technologies.
"We expect Saudi Arabia to move forward with its industrial diversification strategy, which is a key component in the Kingdom's mission to strengthen the national economy," the project manager said, stressing that the show will provide an ideal platform for visitors.
Makinat Saudi Arabia will present the latest developments in machinery, machine tools, equipment, accessories and spare parts from regional and international manufacturers and suppliers. It will also provide opportunities to network with the Kingdom's leading industrial players and sign new dealership and business agreements, he added.
The Kingdom has emerged as one of the most lucrative destinations for industrial machineries with total imports valued at around SR56 billion annually.
Aggressive investment initiatives in the industrial sector has likewise created exciting business opportunities for industrial machineries as industrial investments have reached SR141 billion in 2010, up from SR92 billion in 2009.
The event is being organized by RHC to complement the robust business climate within the industrial sector and provide a definitive business-to-business platform for trade buyers and leading suppliers to interact and discuss mutually beneficial business opportunities, Jawhari concluded.
