While wheat flour and white flour prices remained steady in July at SR35 and SR27 per 45 kg bag respectively, bags of American rice — Abu Bint and Abu Soyuf — were priced SR170 for every 40 kg in July, showing a SR7 drop compared to the same month 2010, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The price of Abu Bint rice bag was the same in June, while the price of Abu Soyuf rice bag fell by SR1 in July compared to the previous month, while it jumped SR25 (13.5 percent) from the price in July 2010. Indian rice Abu Kas is sold at SR221 per bag of 40 kg in July, down by SR10 compared to last July but SR1 rise compared to June this year. Indian rice Waleema has been steady at SR228 in June and July, only SR1 less than the price in July 2010 for a 40 kg bag.
Sugar price rose in the local market to SR179 for a 50 kg bag with a SR12 rise compared to last month registering a 29.7 percent rise compared to July last year.
Nido milk powder weighing 1.8 kg has a price tag of SR56 in July which is SR1 higher compared to the previous month while its price was SR3 lesser in July 2010.
The price of Coast milk powder is SR51 for the same weight. It is SR1 higher than last month but SR5 up from the same period last year. Alali milk powder is also SR1 up compared to June and SR4 up compared to July 2010.
Local chicken has been SR13 in June and July for a kg up by SR2 compared to July last year. The price of imported chicken was SR12 in both June and July while it was SR10 in the same period last year.
Price of a kg of imported frozen red meat has been SR22 during June and July compared to SR15 in July last year while imported frozen red meat has dropped to SR44 in July from SR46 for a kg in June and while it was SR39 in July last year.
