In the case of violence against children, all the blame is put on women, in particular stepmothers. I don't exempt women from playing their violent role; I even consider women a core part of the equation. At the same time, fathers should bear responsibility when violence against children occurs.
Firstly, I wish that our judges were able to review divorce cases and grant custody to biological mothers if she is fit to handle custody. On the other hand, men should realize that their new wives are not necessarily good mothers for their kids. Unfair rules of custody often means that new brides find themselves responsible for kids even before they give birth to their own children.
The rise of violence among stepmothers is questionable. Stepmothers should have faith in almighty Allah. Treating their husband’s children with love and mercy will lead to positive results.
The most important issue is the fathers' role. Their negligence to take care of children will not be cured by stepmothers. Second wives are definitely not the ideal mothers for their children. Any man who thinks his new wife will be the ideal mother for his kids is mistaken. A man gets married to another woman after a divorce or when his wife passes away and usually, stepmothers are more merciful towards the children in case of a deceased wife than in case of a divorce.
Children are the main victims of a divorce. The role of fathers is important and they need to get involved in their kids' lives and learn to listen and trust them and take precautionary actions if conflict arises between children and stepmother.
