The gifts included crystal rosaries bearing Bab Rizq Jameel and ALJ Community Initiatives logos. Women trained and qualified by the Nafisa Shams Academy’s “Work from Home” program produced the rosaries.
Jawaher Al-Zahrani, general manager of the academy, announced that the institution is continuously upgrading its production activity.
Three years ago, the academy produced prayer rugs and sold it to ALJ for distribution to owners of Lexus and selected Toyota model cars.
The production process for prayer rugs was then expanded when new designs were introduced. The academy started a new production line for rosaries.
Women join the academy for training, and then they start producing rosaries from their homes as part of the "Work from Home" program. Other goods that are produced include candles, soaps and light foods.
After attending a seven-day training course, 36 women participated in producing the gifts.
The academy provided financial and supervisory support to the trainees. The academy team is producing gifts for several organizations.
Nafisa Shams Academy for Arts and Crafts provided training for 568 female trainees in different fields, including soap production, secretarial work, tailoring and toy production.
In addition, 104 women were trained through the "Work from Home" program to produce prayer rugs from their homes. Approximately, 2,000 prayer rugs are produced every month, and sold to Toyota and Lexus. During the first six months of the current year, 17,502 units have been produced.
