“Though corruption the deadly disease like cancer is
affecting the society, it is also necessary that the civil society concentrate
their attention to the problems of the Muslims,” Daryabadi said here on
Tuesday.
Delhi’s
Jama Masjid’s imam Ahmad Bukhari on Monday described Hazare’s slogans as
‘anti-Islam’ and accused him of working at Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS) and
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) behest.
Describing
Bukhari’s appeal to the Muslims as his “personal view” Maulana Daryabadi said
that corruption affects Bukhari as a “royal imam” of a mosque that an emperor
had built.” “We support Hazare’s struggle,” Daryabadi said and extend all our
support to him.
Muslim non-governmental
organizations’ (NGOs) representatives also slammed Bukhari. They said they
would make out a massive rally from Crawford Market to Azad Maidan a day later
in Hazare’s support.
Salim
Alware, member of Federation of Minorities in Maharashtra said, “Bukhari’s
statement is divisive. Corruption affects every Indian.”
