Al-Jasser had worked for 17 years as undersecretary at the Ministry of Information before he joined King Saud University in Riyadh as a professor of media and mass communications.
He was also director of the department of information at the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh.
Al-Jasser began his media career at the Information Ministry in 1967 and two years later was sent to the United States where he obtained a bachelor’s from Michigan University in radio and television in 1975. In 1977 he obtained his master's from the same university in the same specialization.
Al-Jasser received his Ph.D. in International Political Media from Oklahoma University in 1982.
Al-Jasser, who was born in 1947, has authored a number of books and research papers on the media, written in local and foreign newspapers and headed a number of media committees.
